After Adam received his B.S. degree from the University of California, Davis, he researched the geochemistry of geothermal systems for 1 1/2 years at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory.  Adam is recognized as an excellent teacher and received an Honorable Mention from the NSF Graduate Fellowship Program.  He is also the recipient of the Holden-Wones Graduate Fellowship.

Dongbo Wang

Dongbo has B.S. degrees in Geosciences and Computer Engineering from the University of Colorado at Boulder with extensive undergraduate experience in an analytical geochemistry laboratory and interdisciplinary projects that combined his geoscience and programming backgrounds.  Dongbo is a NSF IGERT Fellow in the 'Exploring Interfaces in Geochemical and Engineering Research' program.

Selim joined our group to develop his expertise in science problems related to biomineralization after completing his B.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Chemical Engineering at Virginia Tech.  He has published a number of papers focused on thin film processing involving DNA, protein, and polymeric nanoscale templates.   Most recently he is studying biomolecule-mineral interactions during calcite growth.

Laura joined our group this Fall 2006 with excellent undergraduate credentials in Environmental Chemistry from Appalachian State University. As a participant in the NSF REU program, she has extensive research experience in the laboratory and field. She is presently taking graduate coursework in biochemistry, crystallography, and geochemistry.

Jason is pursuing an undergraduate degree in Geosciences with a Minor in Chemistry.  He is the recipient of the Lowry Field Camp Scholarship.  Upon his return from his field camp in Australia, Jason will work with us on the NSF calcification project for his Undergraduate Research.  Future goals include graduate studies in chemical oceanography.
